Exodus 22:18

"Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live." This painting was created as an ode to the Salem Witch Trials and those wrongfully accused of witchcraft as a result of fearmongering hysteria from biblical scripture. 

Exodus 22:18 (2023) by Sydney Bruner is a fine art painting created with acrylic paint with an oil glaze applied to amplify colors and create cohesion prior to varnishing. Each flower was uniquely placed. Inspired by large vintage floral paintings, Bruner's goal was to create a similar romantic composition while adding a touch of contemporary vibrancy.
