Intro: Confessions of a Former Gifted Kid

Intro: Confessions of a Former Gifted Kid

I can only hope in starting this blog that my ideas come across as concise and collected rather than schizophrenic. Let’s be honest here, I’m an artist. And while I am not schizophrenic, my ideas can often be scattered, incomplete, and occasionally abstract. I never claimed to be a writer, though my dad did tell me when I graduated high school that mastering the English language would put me ahead in life. Well dad, I’m a 29-year-old weirdo with a home studio; so I’m not sure which one of us is supposed to be laughing now, but I’m inclined to believe it’s me.

I hope to use this blog as a way to complete some of those incomplete thoughts, in a digestible format that doesn’t land me on a grippy-sock vacation. Like I said, I’m not a writer. I’m just a girl trying to make sense of this fucked-up world and keep myself sane via paintbrush and canvas. With wit, grace, and a dash of profanity, I hope to shed light on some of my internal monologue to give a better understanding of myself as an artist and individual.

These entries will be sporadic. I’ve often found that you cannot force creative matters, such as writing, into a chore list like doing the laundry or cleaning the bathroom. I make no promises to produce content on a schedule to stay relevant. You’ll hear from me when I have something to say. ♥️
